New York, Boston, and New Jersey were the key fixtures for a series of events promoting the magazine and introducing it to the North American literary market. The new publication is the first Hungarian magazine to be listed in the Barnes and Noble and Books-A-Million (BAM!) network of bookstores, with 611 stores across 50 states in the US. In the second half of February, the editorial team of The Continent al, a literary and public-affairs magazine intended for the North American market, embarked on a two-week, multi-stop tour.

In addition to Noam Chomsky, Roxane Gay, and Judith Newman, the first issue of the magazine features the Hungarian writers Krisztina Tóth, János Háy, László Szilasi, and Eszter Babarczy, the Polish Agnieszka Wolny-Hamkało and Hubert Klimko-Dobrzaniecki, the Slovak Mila Haugová, and the Czech Tomáš Zmeškal, among others.

Launched in November 2021, the main undertaking of The Continental Literary Magazine is to introduce the contemporary literature of the region, of Hungary and Central Europe, to the English-reading public, while at the same time to create a platform for Hungarian and Central European authors to gain access to the mainstream North American literary market.
